Key responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and national laws relating to labor practices, environmental regulations, health and safety, and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and communicate relevant updates to management.
- Prepare and submit required compliance reports and documentation.
2. Audits & Inspections
- Conduct internal audits covering safety, environmental, and labor compliance practices.
- Coordinate and support external audits (customer audits, certification audits, government inspections).
- Maintain audit documentation and follow up on required corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
3. Policy Development & Implementation
- Develop, review, and update factory policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with compliance requirements.
- Assist leadership in implementing ethical sourcing, sustainability, and workplace safety programs.
4. Training & Awareness
- Conduct compliance training sessions for employees and supervisors (e.g., health & safety, labor rights, quality standards).
- Build awareness and promote continuous improvement in compliance culture.
5. Risk & Incident Management
- Identify compliance risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Investigate accidents, non-compliance incidents, and employee grievances.
- Prepare incident reports and oversee implementation of corrective measures.
6. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of permits, certifications, audit reports, training logs, waste disposal records, and safety documentation.
- Ensure all compliance-related documents are organized, current, and easily accessible.
7. Stakeholder Communication
- Liaise with management, regulatory bodies, third-party auditors, and suppliers regarding compliance matters.
- Provide regular compliance status reports to leadership
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering.
- Additional compliance certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHA) are an advantage.
- 25 years of experience in factory compliance, quality assurance, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), or audit roles.
- Experience with manufacturing operations and regulatory environments preferred.
- Technical & Soft Skills
- Strong understanding of labor laws, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, SMETA, WRAP, BSCI).
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and training skills.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and lead corrective action initiatives.
Salary range
USD 1500 to 2000 gross
